I am from Nepal. I recently completed my PhD in Bioinformatics (Genomics) from Wageningen University, the Netherlands. During my PhD I worked on the analysis of different types of structural variations in pigs. As a postdoc participating in research team 4, I will be focused on analyzing candidate pathways/genes in disease collections and/or clinical trial samples using exome sequencing data and RNAseq data. Candidate genes will be selected based on likelihood to interact with pathways determined by functional associations (PPI and co-expression networks). In addition, new loci recently identified by the Psychiatry Genetic Consortium GWAS mega-analysis will be included based on their likelihood to interact with cellular signalling pathways. The bioinformatics analysis will include variant analysis (annotation, identification of deleterious variants) and pathway-based aggregated analysis to test for variant enrichment in clinical subtypes (including response).
